Atticus is defending some negro in court today. When ever Jem and I are walking around in town we can hear wispors of our names to were ever we go. One day I decided to ask Atticus what rape is. He didn't really explain. Also while we were going to church with Calpurnia and the same subject had come up again. Aunt Alexandra wont let me go back next Sunday.

Today when I was about to go to sleep I had heard something under my bed. I looked and it was Dill! He said he had run away from home because his mother and father didnt pay enough attention to him. Jem had told Atticus about Dill being under my bed. But before telling anybody he had eaten some food. He also slept over for the night also.

Chapter 12

Today Jem demanded that I should act more like a girl. I took that preety harshly and was also upset. But, I was very eager and was looking forward to see Dill in the summer. But, Dill will not be coming to Maycomb this summer. He said in a letter that I had recieved from him that he has a new father and will be staying with his family.

Calpurnia made us go to church today. Not just any old church but a colored church. A lot of people didnt know how to read, so they just sang. Zeebo, who is Calpurnias oldest son, reads and the rest of the church echos him. It was very different being in this atmosphere, but everyone was very nice!

chapter 8

It was awesome today! The first time in years, it had snowed in Maycomb! So, Jem and I decided to make a snowman. We decided to make a snowman that looked like Mr. Avery. Mr. Avery is a man that lives down the street, that isnt the foundest person to be around. Atticus had told us that we must disguise the apperance of the snowman so it didnt look like Mr. Avery. So Jem had placed a hat on the snowmans head and a tool in its hand.

Tonight very late, Atticus had woke me up and put me in a bathrobe. Miss Maudies house was on fire. Most of the neighbors ran inside her house to help and save the furniture. A fire truck had arrived but it was to late to put out the fire, its only job was to stop the fire from spreading now. The last thing that I had remembered was a blanket put over me. Jem said that Boo Radley had put the blanket over me, and jem had told the storie of the knot hole and the storie of his own pants. Dad told us that we must keep this storie to our selves. How wierd, Boo Radley was behind me!

chapter 6

Today was Dills last day in Maycomb. So Jem and Dill decided to go over to the Radley place to peek in through the shutters to which I accompanied them. So we moved around the house as stealthy as possible. So we all were looking through some windows and we had seen a dark figure or a shadow. We all started to run away, and as we were running away we had heard a shotgun go off from behind us. So we tried to go under the fence by the school yard, but Gems pants had got caught and he had to leave them.

When we had gotten back home after running away from the Radley house, there was a bunch of people at home that were talking to each other. They were talking about how Mr. Radley had shoot at a negro in his yard. Jem still wasnt wearing any pants at this time. So dad asked were his pants were at. Jem says that they were only playing with matches. Later that night Jem had ran back to the fence were he had lost his pants and retrived them.

chapter 4

Today, after school, I had passed an old oak tree. I had discovered some tinfoil which was sticking out of the tree. So I reached in the knot hole and discovered two pieces of chewing gum. I had told Jem about this discovery but he just makes me spit it out. On the last day of school we looked in the same Knot hole and had discovered two old Indian head pennies! I had decided to keep the two pennies.

At last, summer was finally here! Dill had came back to Maycomb just like he has every summer. So we decide to have some fun. One of the first things we had done was role each other in a tire. However when I had gone into the tire, I had rolled on the bradleys lawn right in front of their steps. Man, how scared I was! But, this incident only gives us a good idea of a new fun game. This new game is called Boo Radley.

Chapter 3

Today at school my teacher Miss Caroline freaked out in class today. She had seen a little bug crawl out of a boys hair. This boy is Burris Ewell. He is a member of the ewell clan, which is very poor, even more poor than the Cunninghams. Burris only comes to school the first day of the school year. He only comes to school once a year to avoid the law. He's also very mean, and has no respect for the teacher.

Today I wasnt feeling good at all. Atticus asked me if I was feeling alright. I responded by saying I dont feel well. I also told him that I dont feel like going to school anymore and I told him that he should teach me. But of course, Atticus had told me that the law requires for me to go to school. But, dad had promised me that he would still teach me as long as I didnt tell Miss Caroline. This seems like an alright deal to me.

Chapter 2

I had gone to school today. I had found out that my schoolteacher is Miss Caroline Fisher, who is a horrible teacher! She made me feel incredibly bad because dad educated me. I even complained to Jem and he said it was just her own teaching method, but i knew she was just a mean person. What a great day at school!

Walter Cunningham is a boy in my grade who is very poor that has a large family. At school today Walter had forgotten to bring a lunch. So Miss Caroline had offered Walter a quarter to buy lunch as long as he pays her back. So I tried to be generous and help Miss Caroline out by telling her that he wont be able to pay you back. While I was explaining this to my teacher all she did was become very mad at me and slaps my hand with a ruler. What a terrible teacher!
